Piezo Inverters

Piezo inverters work with a small ceramic based piezocrystall to generate the necessary voltages for CCFLs and EFLs.

This type of inverter has numerous advantages compared with wired transformer based inverters:

• no EMI, because the low to high voltage transducer is made of ceramics and uses mechanical vibration to convert the energy and voltage
• around 90% efficiency due to the tightly coupled vibrational mechanical conversion
• balanced sine wave output without harmonic contents extends lifetime of CCFL and EFL
• balanced sine wave output avoids mercury migration of CCFL and EFL
  
• balanced sine wave output reduces heating of the lamp
• balanced sine wave output achieves an unprecedented level of brightness uniformity
